As in years past First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula is presenting a Christmas event for the community. On the evening of Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m., First Baptist Church invites everyone to enjoy a free event to celebrate Christmas.

"We will have a night of singing Christmas carols and presenting the story of the birth of Christ," said Chip Vickers, who is the Music Pastor at FBC, Ponchatoula.”We will have about 65 people involved with the presentation that will appeal to all who need the spirit of Christmas."

The program will incorporate traditional tunes as well as contemporary beats. The music is being presented by the Sanctuary Choir, Orchestra, Spoken 4 Youth Choir & Kool Kidz Praize Children's Choirs which also includes talented instrumentalists and vocalists.

"This is going to be something for people to sing along to and also enjoy something new at the same time," Vickers said. "Our audience will surely recognize the music and the familiar story, but the new music will give them something they haven't seen before.."

Child care will be provided for children through age 5. First Baptist Church is located at 325 E. Pine Street in Ponchatoula which is 3 blocks east of the railroad tracks on Hwy 22.
